“Mon Crime,” the 22nd film from the prolific Francois Ozon, is probably going to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.
You just have to put two and two together. “Mon Crime” has been given a March 2023 release date in France, that erases any chance for a Cannes or Venice bow next year. Ozon also premiered his last film, “Peter Von Kant,” at the Berlinale this past February.
Isabelle Huppert stars in “Mon Crime” (originally titled “Madeleine”) which was written by Ozon and is being kept under wraps for the time being. All we know about the plot it is set in 1935. It’s also said to be Ozon’s most ambitious production since his 2002 musical “8 Women.”
While we’re at it, out of the 22 films he’s made, 54-year-old Ozon’s three greatest accomplishments have been 2001’s “Under the Sand,” 2003’s “Swimming Pool,” and 2019’s “By the Grace of God.” Agree?
