Dear heavens, no! Jordan Peele is teasing more “Nope” in our future. We really don’t need this talented writer-director to embark on his own cinematic universe.
Peele is a talented guy and I’m saying this as someone who loved “Get Out,” and really liked “Us.” His sense of framing a shot is really quite something. However, the last thing he should do is follow the money.
What Peele should do is go back to his smaller-budgeted roots and slyly provoke us the same way he did with his first two features. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot to like about “Nope” and its ambitious scope, but, if anything, it showed how Peele is not ready to paint on a bigger canvas.
