The teaser for “Tar” definitely intrigued us. It barely had any actual footage, but rather a slow-motion close-up of Cate Blanchett’s face with a smoke-filled mouth. Then, a musical explosion, Blanchett leads an orchestra in full symphonic harmony.
“Tar” has shot up on my must-see list. I don’t think there’s a film I’m more looking forward to catching right now than this one. The stuff I’ve been hearing makes it seem as though it will be the critical darling of the fall festival season. There is no other movie I can think of that will be getting better reviews.
“White Noise” seems too polarizing. I’ve heard mixed things about “Bones & All” (love/hate). “Bardo” will certainly be liked, but there are plenty of Inarritu haters out there.
With that being said, a full-length trailer for “Tar” has been rated and will likely be released this or next week. We’ll finally get to see what Todd Field has in store for us in a matter of days.
