The Toronto International Film Festival released its schedule today. Here are a few noteworthy details:
“The Son” has been given a “content warning” from TIFF:
“Content advisory: themes and depictions of depression, anxiety, and mental distress; self-harm, medical trauma (hospital scenes), mature themes; may be very disturbing for some viewers”
“The Son” and “The Whale” only have have 1 regular (non-premium) public screening each. The fact that neither is going to Telluride and NYFF makes it all the more strange. These will be the only North American screenings for both films.
Steven Spielberg’s “The Fabelmans” is officially 151 min. The film has 5 public screenings and they are all at the two biggest theaters (Princess of Wales and Roy Thompson Hall). You think TIFF wants this one to win the audience award?
The big day seems to be Saturday, September 10th which is when “The Fabelmans” and “Glass Onion” premiere. The latter also has 5 public screenings.
As for additional titles, Princess of Wales has an open slot available on Saturday, September 10th in the afternoon.
