Michael Mann is currently shooting “Ferrari” in Italy. There was a slight delay in production, Penelope Cruz was seen completely fatigued and crying on-set.
Not hard to believe since the heat is currently scorching over there. Extras were warned about signing onto the production and having to work for 12 hours under the sun.
Amidst all this chaos comes the news that “Ferrari” has been given a fall 2023 release date. This fits perfectly with a Venice Festival premiere. The film is said to be epic in scope, recounting a single year (1957) in the life of Enzo Ferrari (Adam Driver) and his wife Laura (Cruz).
Mann’s film comes with very high expectations, not to mention it’s been a passion project percolating for a few decades now. This is set to be the filmmaker’s first film since 2015’s “Blackhat,” which I didn’t like at all, maybe his worst film, but I hear the director’s cut is a vast improvement. Can any of our readers confirm that?
