It seems as though Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s “Bardo” will be aiming for the September festivals after all. The source I spoke to earlier this week, an Oscar pundit for a big trade, told me it wasn’t.
I had it confirmed this late afternoon that Inarittu and Netflix are hopeful “Bardo” will be done on time for the fall fests. In April, Variety had reported that post-production on the film would wrap by the fall. My source from earlier in the week said October.
I’m not too sure what is going on exactly with Inarritu’s post-production process, but I’ll take the word from his team on this one. “Bardo” is indeed planning to launch sometime in September, hopefully in Venice.
Upon hearing the news, my original source simply replied: “Someone should tell that Netflix.”
