You can tell the folks at Universal Pictures are very confident with what they have in Steven Spielberg’s latest film “The Fabelmans.”
The studio announced this evening that Spielberg’s autobiographical film will open exclusively in L.A. and NY on Friday, November 11. That’s smack dab in the middle of Oscar and Holiday season.
This autobiographical film will have Spielberg recounting his childhood in Arizona, including his sneaking into studio lots to meet his idols (the rumor is that David Lynch will be playing an eye-patched John Ford). Michelle Williams and Paul Dano will also be playing Spielberg’s parents.
Only making things more bittersweet, longtime Spielberg composer John Williams said that he expected “The Fabelmans” would be the pair’s final film collaboration.
“The Fabelmans” shoot is said to have been particularly emotional. Williams has mentioned watching Spielberg cry on a few occasions as he played through several scenes of the film with piano accompaniment.
