Lars von Trier has edited together a film version of “Kingdom Exodus.” Where this film version pops up is anybody’s guess, but Venice is the obvious option.
According to Louise Vesth, of Zentropa, Von Trier wants “Kingdom Exodus” to screen at Venice. If this newly released clip is any indication, it’ll be a spooky affair.
“Kingdom Exodus” follows sleepwalker Karen (Bodil Jørgensen) who, one night, while sound asleep, wanders in the dark and finds herself inexplicably outside the hospital. She seeks to find answers to a never-ending set of unresolved questions.
The series will consist of five 60 minute episodes. I would guess the film version to clock in at around 3 hours.
Last we heard from Von Trier, he had premiered his underrated “The House That Jack Built” out of competition at Cannes in 2018.
