Ridley Scott’s “Napoleon,” which started shooting in February, has finally wrapped production in Malta. That’s four months of lending.
This has to be 2022, right? I know we were told 2023, but c’mon …
Scott will be shooting the “Gladiator” sequel this fall, there is no reason to think that 8 months of post-production isn’t enough to deliver “Napoleon” on time for AFI or, at the latest, give it a December release. We’re not talking about Thelma and Marty here.
Scott’s last film, “House of Gucci,” ended filming in May and was then released in November. I’m having a hard time believing Apple would delay this film to 2023, they already pushed “Emancipation” to next year, and the release date for Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” is currently in limbo.
Yeah, “Napoleon” is coming out this year and it’ll be Apple’s main awards season push. Bet on it.
