The 72nd Berlin Film Festival wrapped up in late February to rather muted buzz. I was supposed to attend, but ended up getting cold feet due to the lukewarm lineup and the severe restrictions that came in attending the festival this year.
The big films from this year’s festival, including “Alcarràs,” were Claire Denis’ “Both Sides of the Blade,” Hong Sang-Soo’s “The Novelist’s Wife,” and Ulrich Seidl’s “Rimini.”
