In a recent interview with Collider, Eggers, who already has “The Northman” coming up in April, said he hoped to film his fourth movie in 2022: “I'm going to be super guarded and secretive, but I hope to be going into production with something next year.”
In the interview, he didn’t mention “Nosferatu,” but one must assume that’s exactly the film he’s talking about. Especially with what I’ve just learned today …
While no guarantee that filming is imminent, Eggers has managed to register “Nosferatu” with the Czech Film Fund. That is a great sign that production is moving forward and a Prague shoot is being eyed.

Also 2000's "Shadow of the Vampire" had Willem Dafoe earning an Oscar nomination for an astounding performance.
Rumors are running rampant that Dafoe will be part of the cast. I pray to the high cinematic heavens that he will be cast as the vampire. Eggers must know how much of a goldmine he would have by casting Dafoe in the same role …
