The Atlanta Film Critics Circle has named The Daniels’ “Everything Everywhere All At Once” the best film of the year. This will likely be the first of several Best Film awards it’ll receive in the coming days and weeks .. on its way to an inevitable Best Picture nomination at the Oscars.
The usuals won the acting categories: Blanchett, Farrell, and Huy-Quan. However, surprise, Janelle Monae won Supporting Actress for her turn in “Glass Onion.” Also, Claudio Miranda also won his second cinematography award this season, after last week’s NYFCC prize, and he’s right now turning into a force to be reckoned with.
The big story however is “RRR”. With its NYFCC Best Director win and now placing in the Atlanta top 10, not to mention winning their International Feature award, we should start keeping an eye out on this one. Variety currently has it as one of their 10 Best Picture nominees. I’ll be writing something about this film in the coming day.
