I had it confirmed that the “Oppenheimer” trailer will be playing right before “Avatar: The Way of Water” screenings this coming weekend.
EARLIER: There have been rumors that a new full-length trailer is ready to go for Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer.” We already had a teaser released this past summer, but Nolan tends to release lengthier trailers in the month of December.
What I can confirm is that the film is almost ready. Post-production editing on “Oppenheimer” wrapped last week, now they need to work on refining the VFX. There’s also, coincidentally, a Total Film cover story that is in newsstands next Thursday. Most likely, if a trailer is indeed released, then it’ll probably be playing right before “Avatar: The Way of Water” screenings.
What we do know about “Oppenheimer” is that some of it was was shot in IMAX analog black and white by Nolan and DP Hoyte Van Hoytema and that it spans 45 years in the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the Atom bomb.
Filming had started on February 21 and ended on May 22 with a cast that includes Murphy, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh. Rami Malek and Robert Downey Jr.
