A NYT interview has Jennifer Lawrence revealing that she will star in a film adaptation of Ariana Harwicz’s ‘Die, My Love’ that will be directed by Lynne Ramsay.
Last week, I reported that Ramsay’s “Stone Mattress,” starring Julianne Moore and Sandra Oh, was set to shoot in December. So, we are to assume that “Die, My Love” will be shot after that.
“Die, My Love” is described as a stark tale set in rural France of a woman driven to the brink of insanity by marriage and motherhood. Sounds Ramsay-esque.
Martin Scorsese is also set to produce the film. The filmmaker said about the novel, "It reads like Sylvia Plath, especially because it's about a woman suffering from postpartum and cycling into madness.” [Kyle Buchanan]
Ramsay is the maverick director behind “Ratcatcher,” We Need to Talk About Kevin,” Morven Callar,” and “You Were Never Really Here.” Anything she does should be payed attention to.
