It is one of the hardest feats in commercial cinema to achieve: producing a third instalment that feels worthy and non-disposable. It’s happened, albeit not quite that often enough.
There are some folks out there who believe that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is one of the best threequels ever made. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Yes, It might be better than its two predecessors, and I might be pulling for it to get an Oscar nom, but no way does it comes near the “best.”
I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t punching a bag of cement in my assertion that there were, at the very least, 10 better threequels than ‘No Way Home.’ I wasn’t wrong.
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Day of the Dead
The Godfather Part III
Toy Story 3
Before Midnight
Goldfinger
Return of the Jedi
The Bourne Ultimatum
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
The Dark Knight Rises
Another 10 threequels that are better than “Spider-Man: No Way Home”:
Lady Vengeance
Logan
Skyfall
Army of Darkness
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
War For the Planet of the Apes
The Return of the Pink Panther
Captain America: Civil War
Mission: Impossible III
Thor: Ragnarok
