If you’re the frontrunner for the Best Actor statuette please, for the love of God, don’t reveal while campaigning that you once contemplated murdering your dad.
“I could shove him down, and easily get away with it. I’m Will Smith. No one would ever believe I killed my father on purpose. I’m one of the best actors in the world. My 911 call would be Academy Award level.” [via Pop Crave]
How modest.
Yes, this all has to do with Smith having watched his dad abuse his mother when he was young, but, come on, don’t say you wanted to murder someone, maybe a better phrasing that could have been used was that he wanted to “beat up” or “rough up” Will Smith Sr.
I get it, Smith trying to play noble warrior here, but it’s backfired on him. His campaign is such a mess. Oh, and he absolutely deserves to win Best Actor for “King Richard.”
