A sequel to Sacha Baron Cohen’s 2006 comedy classic, “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan,” has been shot and screened for a select few industry types. I had a nice little chuckle today when it was revealed to me that the upcoming Borat sequel will actually be called “Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice President Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan.”
I was already aware of a test screening that occurred four weeks ago for this anticipated sequel. “Borat 2” is said to have Cohen’s Kazakh character “thinking he’s a big movie star after the success of the original 2006 film made him famous, so he tries to hide from the public by pretending to be someone else, and starts meeting and interviewing people using various different costumes.”
There are pranks said to involve abortion clinics, right-wing rallies and Trump consiglieres Rudy Giuliani and Mike Pence. It’s still unclear when or where Borat 2 will premiere — though a streaming service seems like a pretty good guess, maybe Netflix. One thing’s for sure, this is probably coming out before the November 3rd election in the U.S, you can bank on it.
