If you take a look at Bruce Willis' IMDb page now and the work he's done in the past couple of years, it's all straight-to-video. “Once Upon A Time In Venice,” “Marauders,” the list goes on, almost all of them receiving poor reviews and largely ignored by audiences alike. In fact, the last time Willis had decent box office and positive reviews was more than 8 years ago when Wes Anderson's “Moonrise Kingdom” and Rian Johnson's “Looper” were released in the same year.
From 2013 on, Bruce Willis’ career has been tanking. He’s all, but tapped out for a few years and decided to keep himself working by taking a few paycheck-driven roles. Sure, he’s attempted a comeback with 2019’s “Glass,” the sequel-of-sorts to Split and Unbreakable, and the artsy crime drama “Motherless Brooklyn,” but here's yet another straight-to-VOD affair for Willis, this one is titled “Hard Kill.”
In “Hard Kill,” an ex-marine has to get a team back together for one last mission against a terrorist who wants to destroy the world or something like that. Willis plays a rich guy who joins the team because that same terrorist kidnapped his daughter,
“Hard Kill” is directed by Matt Eskandari and is based on a script by, of all people, MCU director Joe Russo, and Chris LaMont. Willis seems to be fond of Eskandari, as the filmmaker worked with the actor in two previous films (“Survive the Night” and “Trauma Center”).
“Hard Kill” is, supposedly, being released in select theaters and VOD on August 28.
