As rumors run rampant about a possible Cannes Film Festival in July, at this very moment, the thought of September’s Venice Film Festival actually happening sounds ridiculous. Italy is suffering right now and my heart breaks for that beautiful country.
Today, 683 Italians died from the Wuhan Coronavirus, a slight decrease from yesterday when 743 people succumbed to the disease, bringing the death toll in that country to 7,503 on Wednesday. There are now 74,386 ongoing cases. Just to compare and contrast, on Saturday, Italy lost 793 people in a single day to the virus, on Sunday 651 passed away and on Monday 601. A decline was starting to show, only to spike back up on Monday.
