Christian Bale, one of the great actors of his generation, has decided to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Uh, what?!
That’s right, Bale is in talks to join Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Negotiations are said to be near their tail end as both parties just have to sort out a few minor contractual quirks. However, we don’t know any other details about which character the actor woukd play in the MCU film, set for a 2021 release date.
Something tells me that what enticed Bale most to make a silly Marvel movie may have had something to do with the return of “Thor: Ragnarok” director Taika Waititi, who will also be directing ‘Love and Thunder.’
Bale has built a career out of great performances. To list every single one of them could take a bit of time, but there’s no denying his influential work in “American Psycho,” “The Machinist,” “The Fighter,” and “The Big Short.” It’ll be interesting to see who he plays in ‘Love and Thunder,’ but I would assume it’d be a pretty big role considering Bale rarely stars in movies where he’s relegated as a sideshow.
