In case you didn’t hear, there’s this stage adaptation of the original “Alien” movie that has gone viral. Performed by a New Jersey high school drama program, the play was so well-made that it blew up on YouTube and Twitter. You should check out the filmed YouTube video of the show (below) it really is something, complete with locally sourced props and an impressively convincing xenomorph.
What more was left for this high school drama team to achieve other than, ya know,l Ripley herself paying a visit and raving personally about it herself. That’s exactly what happened when on “Alien Day” (4/26, because LV-426), [via Deadline] Sigourney Weaver surprised the cast to pay her respects.
Weaver: “How exciting is it to be here tonight? I’ve only been here a couple of hours, but I can tell this is a very special place in a very special town, and in a school like this you have extraordinary teachers…I met the students and I want to say they are so great.”
