Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Joe/Anthony Russo are pleading with fans not to ruin “Avengers: Endgame,” [via Associated Press] especially after a few scenes had leaked online:
“I wasn’t pleased. It’s not cool. It’s not fun,” Feige said. “But the response was what I expected, which was everybody turning it off, dismissing it, ‘Don’t watch it, don’t spoil it for anybody else.’”
However, Feige can’t be happy with the entirety of “Endgame” now having leaked online. “Endgame” has opened in China and, unsurprisingly, Variety says the leaked copy of “Endgame” was, in fact, recorded in a Chinese theater. It is now available on popular English-language torrent websites. Brutal.
I doubt that leak will affect “Avengers: Endgame” opening weekend numbers in U.S. theaters. The movie is expected to break the record-setting $257 million opening weekend for “Infinity War” by, possibly, surpassing the $300 million mark in its first three days of release. A worldwide debut of $800 million would not be far off either.
