Netflix surprised us during commercial break at the Oscars. The streaming giant released a teaser for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming Irish mobster saga “The Irishman.” sadly this “teaser” was accompanied sans footage, alas, we’ll have to take whatever we’re given. In the sixty-second spot, the voices of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro could be heard with utterance of the line “I hear you paint houses.”
De Niro, Pacino, Harvey Keitel and Joe Pesci will star in the gangster film, based on the book “I Hear You Paint Houses” by Charles Brandt and tells the tale of gangster/assassin Frank 'The Irishman' Sheeran.
I wrote last month:
“The Irishman” will be coming to Netflix this October. That is, at least, what I was told by a member of the cast/crew at Sundance last week. And which has been all but confirmed by star Sebastian Maniscalco on the Joe Rogan podcast, this afternoon by saying "It's coming out in October."
