Surprise, surprise! 20 years after its debut, Larry David is still working on his landmark HBO comedy, “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Two years after the disappointing, but decent enough, ninth season, HBO has finally revealed the first teaser for season 10.
Last season had the Iranian Ayatollah putting out a Fatwa (religious bounty) on Larry‘s head, and all of this because Larry decided to make a comedy musical about the Ayatollah (with a little help from Lin-Manuel Miranda). Filled with hit and miss jokes, season nine was the first time ‘Curb’ showed signs of rust in its episodes.
After its debut in the early aughts, the highly improvised ‘Curb’ will be entering its 10th season of tongue-in-cheek and politically incorrect humor on HBO. Despite the last season being the weakest, throughout its nine seasons, ‘Curb’ has cemented itself in TV history as one of the great and most important shows of all-time.
Speaking with The Daily Beast’s podcast, The Last Laugh, series co-star and executive producer, Jeff Garlin, said, “It’s my favorite season. I know there are other seasons that people will like as much, if not more, but for me, the premise of [this] season is my favorite one we’ve ever done.”
The trailer below, a nod at David’s brand of irreverent comedy, doesn’t reveal much about season 10 plot points, but is a confirmation that the show is coming, and soon. The first episode, titled “Happy New Year,” is set to premiere in January, 2020.
