We could go on and on about the inner-workings and intricate details surrounding the Kevin Spacey sexual assault allegations, but that was covered well enough here.
Briefly, the actor was charged in January with one count of sexual assault. He pled not guilty. The charges against the actor were later dropped. Supposedly, the man accusing Spacey of sexual misbehavior had altered phone records/text messages and the defense attorney found out about that. When the kid took the fifth in court, the complainant lost the case.
Today we’ve learned that the Los Angeles DA’s office has formally dropped another case against Spacey because, well, the accuser has died.
Cue in the conspiracy theories (although there are rumors that the plaintiff died of cancer).
The accuser, an unnamed massage therapist, alleged that Spacey tried to kiss him and forced him to grab his genitals during a session in Malibu in October 2016. There is no known official cause for the accuser’s death, known in public court records as “John Doe,” but this is another “win,” if you’d like to call it that, for the Spacey camp who quickly filed a motion to dismiss the case after they learned the accuser died—much to the chagrin of Doe’s family.
