Oh well, Joss Whedon, the supposed savior of the DCEU, who came aboard to take over the post-production and reshoots of “Justice League, seems to have had a falling out with the WB. Whatever happened, Whedon is moving on from the DCEU.
It was just announced by THR that Whedon has left his passion project "Bagirl," with the filmmaker admitting that he simply couldn’t deliver what they wanted:
“ ‘Batgirl’ is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realize I really didn’t have a story,” Whedon said. “I’m grateful to Geoff [Johns] and Toby [Emmerich] and everyone who was so welcoming when I arrived, and so understanding when I… uh, is there a sexier word for ‘failed’?”
If you are unfamiliar with Whedon, although why would you be, he's the creative mind that penned "Buffy," "Serenity," "Toy Story," "The Cabin in the Woods" and "The Avengers," and took over Zack Snyder as director of "Justice League" earlier last year amid reshoots, negative test screenings and the sudden passing of Snyder's daughter.
