Lucasfilm has hired U.K. TV vet Jack Thorne to work on rewrites for "Star Wars: Episode IX." It was, of course, bound to happen considering Carrie Fisher's untimely death, but nobody knows for sure if this rewrite does, in fact, have to do with the actress' sudden death. The original script was penned by Colin Trevorrow and, his "Jurassic World" co-screenwriter, Derek Connolly

Fisher's Leia Organa was supposed to have a major role in “Episode IX.”  They will have the job to try and find a way to properly "send her off," which will be quite the daunting task. How can they do it in such a way that it is not only artistically succesful, but also respectful to Fisher and her family? My take on it? Trust Disney, they've never been distatesful or arrogant about the way they operate. I just hope the creative process doesn't take a hit since it is clear that Lucasfilm clearly had Fisher front and center for Episode IX.
