Blade Runner 2049 - Empire cover

Some little birdies are telling me that Denis Villeneuve's "Blade Runner 2049" will premiere at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.

The good news is not only is Villeneuve being behind the camera, Hampton Fancher, who wrote the original Blade Runner, and Michael Green (Logan), have collaborated on the screenplay. But, that's not all. Quite possibly the greatest cinematographer of my time, Roger Deakins, is photographing the film. Can the anticipation get any greater?

Here's the official synopsis:

"Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society in chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years."

“Blade Runner 2049” will be released on October 6th.
