According to Forbes Villeneuve is among the directors being considered to replace Ben Affleck in The Batman, the others being Matt Reves, Matt Ross and Gavin O'Connor. If Villeneuve is considered, they better not strip him of his creative freedom and I'm sure he wouldn't hop into this knowing that he wouldn't have complete authority with the creative process.
