Those that bought a ticket to "Rogue One' in 70mm IMAX are in for a real treat. Multiple sources are telling me that a seven-minute prologue for Christopher Nolan‘s "Dunkirk" will play before select showings of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" in 70mm IMAX.
Nolan shot key sequences of his new film "Dunkirk" using 15 perf 65mm IMAX cameras. More specifically, it has been revealed that Nolan’s "Dunkirk" will feature over 100 minutes of IMAX material, according to /Film which is quoting "sources close to production."
Tom HardyMark RylanceKenneth Branagh, and Harry Styles star in "Dunkirk" which is expected to come out on July 21st, 2017.
This will be Nolan's first film since 2014's "Interstellar." It is the first time he has decided to delve into the war genre, which is a breath of fresh air for him given that his last 5 films have been either Superhero-related (The Dark Knight Trilogy) or Science-Fiction ("Interstellar," "Inception," "The Prestige") Finally he'll be dealing with real life, that hasn't happened since 2002's "Insomnia."
In the meantime we have this teaser of the film:
