"The Simpsons Movie" grossed over $500 million worldwide. The film felt like a feature-length episode from the golden-age of the series, that's around season 4-6. I really liked the film, so much so that it cracked my Top 30 in 2007, a year that some consider to be the greatest in movie history. I never really thought there would be another film happening, but James L. Brooks spoke with LRM and was asked whether or not a second film might happen and it seems like Fox wants that.
“Fox very much wants us to do another one, and maybe we will and maybe we won’t—that’s where it is,” Brooks explained. “How do we divide our labors, and do we believe in the idea we have? We may go into a more active exploration of a second movie soon.”
