Consider me surprised by the deadpan sense of comedic humor Jim Jarmusch is aiming for here, at least judging by the just-released trailer for his upcoming “The Dead Don’t Die.”

Consider me disappointed with the by-the-books trailer that has just been released for Brian De Palma’s upcoming terrorist thriller “Domino.”

The "John Wick" series has turned into a visceral, 21st century homage to the B-movie. It is very hard not to enjoy what Keanu Reeves and the directing duo of Chad Stahelski/David Leich have done with the first two installments . The story itself was simple: A low-key, but lethal hitman gets brutally beaten up by gangsters and, more importantly, his dog gets killed, which flicks off a switch in his head to exact the ultimate revenge. On a $20 Million budget the first filmmade $86 Million at the box-office, but, more importantly, it became an enormous hit on streaming services and home video. "John Wick: Chapter Two" made $92 Million at the domestic box-office.

A trailer has just been released for the fourth installment of the "Toy Story" franchise; for the most part it looks fantastic.

I badly need to rewatch “Infinity War.” I was underwhelmed by my initial watch, maybe expectations were, for some reason, too high but it has quickly become one of the most popular MCU entries ever for comic book movie fans. At the very least, I should respect the overall consensus, its 8.5 IMDB user rating just seems a tad too ridiculous, and give it another shot before I embark into watching the Anthony and Joe Russo’s “Avengers: Endgame,” which is easily the most highly anticipated MCU entry in the decade-long franchise’s history.

Danny Boyle‘s “Yesterday” has an agreeable concept; What if The Beatles never existed and you happened to be the only person in the world that can recall their entire repertoire of great tunes?

“Long Shot” has Charlize Theron plays 40ish Secretary of State Charlotte Field, who is also planning a presidential run for the White House. Seth Rogen’s Fred Flarsky is the political journalist whom Theron hires to be her speechwriter, in part because she babysat him when she was in her teens. The slogan for the film reads “unlikely but not impossible.” At least they are in admittance that a story such as this one would be highly unlikely in the real world, right?

Ok fine, I was suckered into humming “A Whole New World” while watching the new trailer for Disney’s upcoming live-action “Aladdin.” Disney probably expected a backlash to happen — after all, I hear they now have the technology to read our minds— when they decided to resurrect the late Robin Williams’ Genie by casting *gulp* Will Smith. The anger from fans was scathing. Nobody and I mean nobody would be happy with whomever took the task of replacing WIlliams as Genie, possibly the best voice acting in the history of animation.

The new wave of Indie horror that has come forth this decade is nothing short of exhilarating and represents a clear-cut highlight for me in terms of American cinema these last ten years. However, sophomore efforts can be a tricky thing, just look at David Robert Mitchell’s dilemma in following his great “It Follows.”

Read more‘Leaving Neverland’ Trailer: Problematic and One-Sided HBO Documentary Has Abuse Victims Speaking Out
I saw Dan Reed’s problematic “Leaving Neverland” a week, or so, ago and it disturbed me in more ways than one. First off, the graphically detailed description by James Safechuck and Mark Robson of how Jackson sexually abused them as kids makes for some uncomfortable viewing. But also, if you know the background of these two guys, Robson has, by all accounts, lied under oath about Jackson in a court of law, among other sketchy things, you start to also become disturbed by Reed’s one-sided argument.
